Well, so first off, I really apologise for my ridiculously long absence in the art department... Things have been pretty crazy for a long time, but they might be finally starting to settle down. Another reason why I haven't been posting any art is that something has been bugging me, a lot...

So, I figured that now is as good as time as any to introduce the new Sumai, or shall I say, FlameShield. Sumai’s sparkle-lion tendencies have really been bothering recently and I’m just not into those kind of characters any more. But I still love his design so much, so I've been facing a real dilemma over what to do with him. Then I realised - multi-coloured animal characters? Ponies! Of course! So there we have it. I’m not opposed to changing a character’s species - much like Karasu turned from a lion into a chi cat, Sumai has also made the species transition from lion to pony, and I can’t say I’m disappointed. His design really does suit the pony world, so I didn’t have to change a thing! And don’t worry, FlameShield is still the same character, just in a different shape
